Our Journey
OUR STORY:
We began with a single meal and a big vision. In a small community gathering at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove, a fundraiser lunch was held with one goal: to drill a water well in Kenya.
That first successful well campaign changed everything. It wasn’t long before the water began to nourish more than just people, it nourished a movement. We quickly expanded into tree planting and animal husbandry, which grew into a large-scale agroforestry initiative reaching across the southwest side of Migori County.
As the needs of our community grew, so did our reach. We launched a publishing arm to share our story, opened a medical clinic, and are now nearing the completion of Trinity Lodge. Once the Lodge is ready for occupation, it will serve as a residence for volunteers, allowing us to finally welcome partners from around the world for life-changing mission trips.
What started as a fundraiser lunch has become a permanent home for hope.

Angels of Africa is a faith-inspired nonprofit empowering communities through sustainable development, environmental stewardship, education, and health initiatives. We partner with communities to create practical solutions that improve lives while protecting the natural resources that sustain them.
Our mission is to promote well-being, foster resilience, and protect the environment through community-driven action. Guided by the call Chukua Hatua — Take Action, we turn compassion into service and faith into meaningful action that brings hope and opportunity.
OUR VISION: We envision thriving communities across Africa where families have access to clean water, education, healthy environments, and sustainable opportunities, equipped to overcome challenges while preserving the land for future generations.
OUR FAITH & DOCTRINAL STATEMENT:
Our work is inspired by the Christian belief that faith calls us to serve others with humility, compassion, and love. Galatians 5:13 reminds us, “Serve one another humbly in love.” This truth guides our work and motivates us to turn belief into service that transforms lives.
Angels of Africa affirms the core beliefs of historic Christianity: that God is Creator, Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit guides and empowers believers, and the Bible is God’s inspired Word. These beliefs are not just words; they are the foundation for everything we do. They inspire our commitment to provide practical help, steward God’s creation, and empower communities to thrive with dignity and hope.
Our journey in pictures
The Well Drilling: Our first major project turned a vision into reality by providing clean, life-sustaining water to the community. This well remains a vital resource, serving hundreds of families and providing the foundation for all our other growth.
Agroforestry & Fruit Production: We are restoring the local environment through large-scale tree planting and sustainable agroforestry initiatives. These projects not only heal the land but also provide nutritious fruit and reliable income for local farmers.
The Book Launch: We launched our publishing arm to share our story and our mission with a global audience. Through these publications, we are able to inspire others and document the incredible transformation happening on the ground.
AoA Clinic: Our clinic provides a vital lifeline by offering accessible medical care and essential treatments to those in need. We are committed to improving health outcomes and ensuring that every family in Giribe area of Migori County has a place to find healing.
Trinity Lodge: This is the heartbeat of our future growth, a multipurpose facility designed to house our international headquarters and provide a comfortable residence for visiting volunteers. Once open, it will allow us to host mission teams from around the world, creating a space where global partners and local leaders can work side-by-side to drive lasting change.
Animal Husbandry: We maintain a farm with cows and sheep to serve as a hands-on learning hub for the entire community. Our free training programs teach families how to effectively raise livestock to improve their nutrition and build a profitable business.
